Maria Pucciarelli is a New York native with a gymnastics background and is currently a professional circus artist and coach. She started gymnastics training at age 11, fell in love with contortion and hand balancing, and switched to circus arts training at age 14. She began performing professionally at 15 and has performed in venues across the US and internationally. She trained under coach Khazu and attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in NYC. One of the hardest contortion moves she performs is the triple fold. She has been featured in Jordan Matter projects and on various television shows. She also coaches youth circus artists and has received multiple choreography awards for her students' contortion acts. She is co-founder of DISTORT Contortion.
