About
Congolese contortionist Strauss Serpent, artist name of Joress Kenfack Mpandou. At the age of 8, he discovered his flexibility, which he then developed by practicing yoga. He has defined his distinctive style by drawing inspiration from his life and the society he comes from, and by integrating theater and emotion into his art. It was while watching a Cirque du Soleil video that he found his calling. It is a happy coincidence that the artist was in turn discovered and recruited by the big organization thanks to the small screen, after a remarkable passage on the show America's Got Talent in 2020. Rotating your head 180 degrees, shaping your limbs like modeling clay, bending your spine in incredible angles: all of this comes naturally to the artist today. It's his daily life! Rather, he sees the real challenge as instilling the theatricality sought into his character and communicating Fossorial's message.
