Rachel Talbert

A former competitive swimmer, has trained in Aerial Sling and Contortion at New England Center for Circus Arts in Brattleboro VT. She later completed the Circus Arts Intensive training program at The Actor’s Gymnasium in Chicago Il with additional training in Mongolian Contortion at Aloft Circus Arts. After teaching acrobatic dance and contortion for 4 years Rachel formed her own business Shape Shifters Contortion LLC and currently teaches classes and workshops across the state and beyond. Rachel is a company performer and teacher with Host of Sparrows Aerial Circus. In addition, she performs at special events for East Coast Entertainment Inc. After beginning my formal training in 2008 at NECCA I received a scholarship to participate in the Circus Arts Intensive program at Actors Gymnasium in Chicago IL which I completed in 2015. I began teaching that same year. As a teacher I want to offer my students the best progressive approach to flexibility and mobility. I am pursuing highly specialized teacher training certifications through Cirque du Soleil coach Alixa Sutton as well as continued education in physiology, injury prevention, and physical therapy techniques to help my students move better both in contortion and in every day life.
